We had the absolute pleasure of returning to the Cairnwood Estate in Bryn Athyn, PA for Michelle and Troy’s wedding. The florals we created were soft and airy, white and blush tones with pops of vibrant greenery. Being spring, we had the good fortune of being able to source most of the blooms locally from Jig-Bee (the peonies came from our very generous 96yr old neighbors garden, thank you always Mrs Miller!)

I omitted greenery from Michelle’s bouquet because I so loved how much movement it had with simply flowers. A mix of lilac, Clooney ranunculus, poppies, garden roses, chantilly snapdragons, tulips and peonies made up the bouquets.

We designed 3 different centerpiece styles for the tables (both rectangular and round) between two rooms with loads of candles. We also installed a large piece on the mantle in the main room (which served as an entryway and later a place to mingle and dance. (There’s some behind the scenes of designing the mantle on instagram if you want to check it out).

think spring.

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but spring makes me emotional. Like, I cry when I see magnolia emotional. It’s my favorite season: the heat from the sun, my favorite flowers in bloom, green grass.

Springtime feels like the warmth of meeting with an old friend. And the flowers. Nothing compares to local spring flowers and branches, grown in the garden, picked from the flower farms. Whenever someone asks me what my favorite flower is my brain conjures a ?????? response, because HOW DO YOU CHOOSE.

My forever favorites are Tulip Magnolia, Lilac, and Poppies. Obviously there are a million others, but I tend to love things that have a 2 week bloom span (typical). We have an upcoming wedding on April 13th, which I will be utilizing every blooming flower and branch for.

And yes, I will actually cry when the magnolia blooms.

Talk soon,

Rose
